The Land-Grant College Review is a handsomely designed literary magazine based in New York City. It publishes short stories. In 2004 the LGCR was the only literary magazine nominated by the editors of the Utne Reader for an Independent Press Award. Our first issue features stories by Aimee Bender, Josip Novakovich, Robert Olmstead, Ron Carlson, Stephen Dixon, and many others. Our second issue includes stories by Jeffery Renard Allen, Arthur Bradford, Alan Cheuse, Jonathan Goldstein, Jim Hanas, Roy Kesey, Jeff MacGregor, Nelly Reifler, David Schuman, and Peter Walpole. Issue No. Three is now available and features the stories of Frederick Barthelme, Kenneth Bernard, Lewis Buzbee, Brock Clarke, Evan Lavender-smith, Padgett Powell, Joan Silber, Terese Svoboda, Mary Swan, and Diane Williams.
